Deployment of new chemical products, equipment and technology is a hallmark of a vibrant and growing sales organization. Managing a team of six, the SeniorProduct Manager is an integral member of the team that efficiently and effectively moves new products through the process from request to activation using demonstrated knowledge of product set-up, compliance and risk management. Reporting directly to the Director, Product Management, the Sr. Product Manager will act as the main line of product communication to bridge across competing priorities of the functional groups in the organization; commercial, operations, regulatory, research and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Work cross-functionally on teams to deliver solutions to internal and external stakeholders and bring complex products to the customer in a fast paced and nimble environment. * Facilitate communication between Product Technologies, Product Champions, Procurement, and Supply Chain by engaging with the development team and other functions to facilitate discussion, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation. * Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs. * Support Product Lifecycle Management tool and the safety data sheet generation tool implementation activities; document, communicate and enforce standard processes. * Facilitate cross training and level loading of Product Management and Compliance activities. * Supervise the NPR process; establish metrics to measure the effectiveness/efficiency to drive improvements. * Coordinate the efforts of Product Champions to develop and maintain optimized product line focused on margin improvement. * Facilitate discussions on sourcing/manufacturing options to better manage costs; demonstrate agile thinking and ability to identify and counter measure against root causes while navigating through ambiguity. * Manage product allocations. * Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between internal and external customers, product managers, research and development. * Demonstrate expert product and industry knowledge and helps organization gain the competitive edge. * Mentor junior team members; provide technical leadership across the organization.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Review and assess new product for compatibility with materials of construction. * Alert pertinent personnel of known Product Application Special Requirements for NPRs. * Send Product Design Survey to requestors and maintain completed surveys. * Sign formula worksheet for Corporate Approval. * Instruct on NPR product setup specifics, special requirements, and deadlines. * Assist Technical Staff, Corporate Sales, Field Sales, etc. on Product Information. * Establish and enforce processes to maintain clean, accurate product data. * Manage product certifications/registrations and full disclosure processes. * Facilitate free trade agreement qualification process to ensure compliance. * Coordinate the management of GSA to support compliance at government accounts.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS * Knowledge of industrial waterand processchemistry, equipment, and treatment. * Technical, Analytical skills and business knowledge * Communication and Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and leadership * Organizational skills; Self-management EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Bachelor’s degree with courses in chemistry, math, or engineering. * Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Chemical or related industry. * Demonstrated leadership success in a people management role.
