The Field Service and Applications Specialist (FSAS) is a field-based position responsible for supporting and growing the Cepheid business by offering technical/applications training and support among current and potential customers with effective troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Cepheid products in a designated territory. Work collaboratively with Sales and Marketing business units to identify and assess customer needs to provide high quality customer care that exceed expectation.

This position is part of the Customer Care department and will be located at Rio de Janeiro/RJ. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide system, software, assay, and maintenance demonstration/training to customers remotely or in the field or internally by covering all Cepheid portfolio.

  • Perform routine standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

  • Assist Sales and Marketing teams on pre-sales activities such as presentations, technical visits, and methodologies evaluation.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Engineering (Biochemical/Biomedical), and related courses. One-two years of related work experience in a customer service, technical support, service, or product support role

  • Language Skills: Portuguese Fluency (written & spoken) and Advanced English (written & spoken) required (Spanish a plus)

  • Travel up to 75% with overnights (valid driver license)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Technical Course in Electronics (or related disciplines) or 1-2 years of related work experience

  • Conduct presentations of technical information to internal and external customers

  • Proficient in computer hardware and software repair
