Danaher Corporation Senior Financial Analyst, North America Operations in Romeoville, Illinois
Location: We have manufacturing facilities in Ames, Iowa and Romeoville Illinois. The position should be based in a commutable distance to either of these locations. Both locations have been listed for marketing purposes but only one position is available.
The Senior Financial Analyst – North America Operations supports the forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic partnerships within our manufacturing and operations teams. Foster partnerships to support plant leaders in helping them make better financial decisions that make a difference to our business and core values. This includes conducting financial and business analysis to identify potential problems and recommend solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual financial budgets, as well as supporting global supply chain and procurement teams with analytics.
We're looking for someone with solid understanding of the manufacturing environment (think lean six sigma!) who can support forecast accuracy and bring a true understanding of operations challenges to bridge the finance gap. Be a strong thought leader who can positively impact change and be ever adapting to the quickly changing challenges the manufacturing environment faces day to day.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Drives for Results
Collaborate with Global Operations & Service Director and Controller, North America, as well as Plant Directors to establish standard reporting and KPIs, such as plant reporting packages, productivity, inventory & E&O reporting
Participate in development of standard process documentation/policies for costing items: standard cost methodology, Overhead Absorption, Variance reporting, etc.
Support Plant Directors with budgeting, forecasting, headcount reporting, and monthly and quarterly variance analyses
Ownership of North America capital reporting process, both forecasting and review of project proposals related to Ops/Service
Reviews and validates the production, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly and quarterly reporting
Leads Continuous Improvement
Participates in and helps drive the use of DBS/Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business
Challenges existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs to help implement needed changes to build a best-in-class control environment
Relationships and Influence
Reports to the Controller, North America with dotted line to the Hach Global Finance Director, Operations and Service
Partners with Regional and local plant Controllers and Operations/Service leadership teams
Partners with broader organization to drive standardizations and continuous improvements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
7-10+ years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles, with specific experience in operations/manufacturing
Experience in a global, matrix organization a plus
Experience in implementation of financial accounting systems is a plus
Experience with Oracle, HFM, or similar software a plus
