We are seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to perform a wide range of product and process related tasks across multiple disciplines.
This role is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team responsible for operations engineering support and new product introduction activities. Our team supports efforts to resolve product and/or process technical issues impacting product quality and delivery of liquid handling instruments. This individual will be part of a highly engaged team passionate about bringing the highest quality and performance to our customers.
The right candidate will be responsible for the following:
Solving complex issues in a production environment through structured problem solving that meets quality and production goals while adhering to company policies, procedures and compliance standards.
Resolve optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from start-up, building the product line, through satisfactory production.
Lead mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical design changes to ensure a manufacturable and sustainable product while maintaining assembly functionality.
Develop manufacturing test protocols and automated test solutions to validate performance and operation of product sub-assemblies and complete systems.
Drive engineering change order activities and release documentation.
Coordinate design change plans cross-functionally with planning, purchasing, supplier quality, compliance and manufacturing teams to ensure production is uninterrupted.
Establishes action plans and leads reviews to assess project status and minimize risks.
Drive improvement to product cost, quality and performance by utilizing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies
The following are the qualifications for this position:
Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical, mechanical or similar engineering field.
7+ years proven experience in a manufacturing engineering environment including process and design development and complex system assembly.
The following are preferred qualifications:
Experience with design and assembly of motor driven stage assemblies, computer systems, PCB assemblies, cable assemblies, process tooling fixtures and electro-mechanical test fixtures.
Ability to communicate design intent, risks, risk mitigations and impact through FMEAs.
Proficient with SolidWorks
Proficiency with AutoCAD, ECAD tools, Python, C#, SQL and LabVIEW programming is a plus
Understanding of statistical process control, GR&R and other 6-sigma and lean manufacturing tools is a plus
Proficient with JMP statistical software is a plus
