Job Family/Subfamily Description:

Responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. May also be responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules and for the appropriate shipping of finished goods to various distribution centers utilizing material handling equipment in support of management policies for customer delivery and inventory levels. Includes planners and inventory control roles.

Job-Specific Requirements

This role focuses on Master Scheduling of Microbiology Consumables manufactured at the Sacramento site and works with various stakeholders to align supply with end-user demand. This position analyzes data from the global demand forecast against manufacturing capacity to accurately develop a production plan that Manufacturing can execute. This role works closely with demand planning, manufacturing. and order management team members to balance requirements from various stakeholders to ensure alignment with Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity goals. This position coordinates internal requests for production slots and implementation of engineering changes into production.

  • Analyzes demand signals; determines what needs to be built

  • Analyzes manufacturing capacity; determines when items are built

  • Coordinates effectivity of engineering changes

  • Supports scheduling of non-routine items (R&D, SeLux, Custom, In-process)

  • Releases Work Orders; Publishes Manufacturing Schedules

  • Inventory Management - analysis of requirements vs inventory position

  • Supports PSI process (Step 3 Supply Review)

  • Supports Launch Excellence through Phase-In and Phase-Out management

  • Supports implementation of Oracle Cloud Planning module (Supply) - execution of test scripts; system SuperUser

  • Supports implementation of eBatch records

  • CI funnel - development of Planning standard work related to process and system changes

  • Backup of subassembly planner/support of cross-training

Education and/or Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years exp. OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 3+ years exp. OR

  • Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years exp.

  • APICS certification strongly preferred
