Based in West Sacramento, CA, the Test Automation Engineer for Beckman Coulter is responsible for helping design, develop, maintain the Test Automation framework for Microbiology software and providing leadership to drive improvements and optimizing the usage of automation across projects.
This position is part of the Microbiology Operating Company nested within Beckman Coulter and our vision is to ensure we that every patient has access to right antibiotic at the right time as one of the leading ID/AST companies.
You will be a part of the Software Test team and report to the Senior Manager responsible for Beckman Coulter Microbiology software within a medical device system. If you thrive in a software test leadership role and want to work in a world-class R&D organization—read on.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Design/Architect test automation framework and develop the new test automation libraries
Work with the Software Test team to develop and execute Test Automation for new and existing Microbiology software
Implement Software verification process and Automated testing for all projects to improve the overall testing cycle
Train and bring new testing knowledge to the team
Assist with test plan creation, planning, and management of individual test activities
Identify test scenarios and develop the test cases / test scripts
Provide leadership to drive improvements and build skillset within the Software Test team
The essential requirements of the job include:
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Experience as a software test automation lead
Experience in testing of Microsoft Windows client/server applications
Experience in an Agile development environment
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 5+ years programming OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 3+ years programming
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Human Factors / Usability
Medical device software development under FDA and global regulation
