About the Technical Sales Specialist role:
This role is responsible for enabling strategic initiatives across key product lines, target applications, and accounts. It acts as the sales link to the Business Units, product development, and marketing/verticals providing customer and industry insight related to product/application needs and industry trends. This role provides detailed technical/product application consulting that addresses the most critical business and operational needs for Hach’s customers and directly support sales activities for AQI Data Management Solutions, specifically WIMS and other current or under development solutions.
Recognized as an industry expert in their assigned process and vertical market
Works closely with front line sales to consult and educate customers
Demonstrates Software Solutions in various environments including Live in Person Seminars, On-Site sales demonstrations, Web-Presentations
Leads Opportunity sales tactics and creates Proposals
Provides guidance to FSS informal Quote preparation
Coordinates planning and scheduling of WIMS User Groups and leads events as SME. Contributes to Claros Summit event planning and supports event
Works closely with customers to solve “complex” problems delivering efficiencies, optimization, and cost-saving that address the customers primary business/operational needs
Provides key market insight to internal sales and marketing groups to facilitate the development of strategic business and marketing plans. Also provides voice-of-customer and application insight to product planning and development teams
Supports the BU on Beta trials
Leads field evaluations for complex application evaluations
Collects and develops information to support and develop sales tools (value sell documents, application notes, quick reference sale notes, competitive analysis, etc.)
Provides presentation leadership at Hach-sponsored seminars, and National industry-sponsored seminars and conferences.

Are you qualified?
BA, BS, or MS degree required. A degree in a science-related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent is preferred
5 years of technical applications experience in similar products and services required
Direct customer commercial/sales experience is preferred
Must have good computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
Demonstrates exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers
Requires proven ability to speak before large groups
Must exhibit the willingness and ability to assimilate technical information quickly
Ability to travel up to 70%
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay up to 20%.
