Job Title: Assistant Manager of Integrated Supply Chain - DBS

Location: San Diego, CA

Purpose statement:

The Assistant Manager ensures the timely shipping of Digital Biology Solutions (DBS) products to customers from the point it reaches Shipping. This position also ensures that incoming items are processed and organized according to IDT standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring transport of raw materials from West Coast Operations to TFMS. This role provides guidance and direction for the department by ensuring that workflow is prioritized and that processes are being followed according to protocol. This position acts as a resource to personnel and as a liaison to other resources, as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises and directs staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations and discipline.

  • Ensures organization and prioritization of workflow within the group and communicates with staff to ensure that all products are shipped on time and according to customer specifications, incoming materials are received and accurately tracked in an organized manner, and raw materials are transported to and from the facility.

  • Maintains inventory control. Drives toward lean inventory.

  • Ensures appropriate processing of hazardous materials according to Federal and International regulations.

  • Ensures appropriate training of direct reports.

  • Drives development of direct reports via P4G and other tools.

  • Assists in routine decontamination control procedures.

  • Maintain departmental metrics and KPIs to drive results.

  • Utilizes DBS to drive results.

  • Reviews and approves invoices for payment.

  • Adheres to safety regulations, SOPs, and contamination controls.

  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education, Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

  • Current/valid driver’s license required. (Note: CDL not required.)

  • 49CFR DOT shipper/carrier certification preferred.

  • IATA certification preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Four years of experience working in supply-chain roles preferred.

  • Previous IDT Supply Chain experience preferred.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

Travel Requirements (anything requiring overnight stay):

  • Occasional (up to 5%)

Physical Requirements:

  • Exert 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 50 lbs. of force frequently

Visual Acuity:

  • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.

  • Ability to accurately read measurements on equipment.

  • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
