Danaher Corporation Business Development Manager - Purification Technologies in San Diego, California
GENERAL SUMMARY:Maintain and manage territory by meeting and exceeding revenue and margin goals for preparative, and process scale chromatography products (HPLC / Flash). Manage customer accounts to ensure advanced service and technical support to customers with on-site consultative visits on a regular and ongoing basis. Territory will cover North America but also require interaction with global team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct on-site customer visits to provide technical information with regards to chromatography related products and services
Originate phone calls, respond to incoming calls and provide technical information with regards to chromatography related products and services
Ensure that assigned territory meets sales and margin goals
Conduct on-site product demonstrations and/or technical seminars
Attend local vendor shows and company sponsored trade shows
Develop relationships with KOLs and new / existing customers; Gather customer product requirements
Develop business plans, market analysis, forecasts and sales strategies for North America
Maintains and enhances sales skills through technical and sales training
Manage and maintain information in MSCRM system
Perform other job-related duties and training as requested by customers and/or management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or advanced degree (B.S, M.A, PhD.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related discipline required
Excellent understanding of downstream purification in process development
Understanding of current manufacturing processes as a supplier
Requires analytical thinking and presenting ideas
Experience in Microsoft office and Database Management
Extremely skilled in the art of negotiation
Able to perform basic mathematical equations and formulas
Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion
Extensive knowledge of HPLC and purification techniques
At least 5 years of experience in sales into the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical marketplace
Willingness to travel between 40 – 60%.
Requires the ability to perform independently and as part of a team
