Danaher Corporation Business Development Manager - Purification Technologies in San Diego, California

GENERAL SUMMARY:Maintain and manage territory by meeting and exceeding revenue and margin goals for preparative, and process scale chromatography products (HPLC / Flash). Manage customer accounts to ensure advanced service and technical support to customers with on-site consultative visits on a regular and ongoing basis. Territory will cover North America but also require interaction with global team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct on-site customer visits to provide technical information with regards to chromatography related products and services

  • Originate phone calls, respond to incoming calls and provide technical information with regards to chromatography related products and services

  • Ensure that assigned territory meets sales and margin goals

  • Conduct on-site product demonstrations and/or technical seminars

  • Attend local vendor shows and company sponsored trade shows

  • Develop relationships with KOLs and new / existing customers; Gather customer product requirements

  • Develop business plans, market analysis, forecasts and sales strategies for North America

  • Maintains and enhances sales skills through technical and sales training

  • Manage and maintain information in MSCRM system

  • Perform other job-related duties and training as requested by customers and/or management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree (B.S, M.A, PhD.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related discipline required

  • Excellent understanding of downstream purification in process development

  • Understanding of current manufacturing processes as a supplier

  • Requires analytical thinking and presenting ideas

  • Experience in Microsoft office and Database Management

  • Extremely skilled in the art of negotiation

  • Able to perform basic mathematical equations and formulas

  • Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion

  • Extensive knowledge of HPLC and purification techniques

  • At least 5 years of experience in sales into the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical marketplace

  • Willingness to travel between 40 – 60%.

  • Requires the ability to perform independently and as part of a team
