The VP & Chief Talent, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer will be a strategic, entrepreneurial, and hands-on leader who will play a key role in ensuring that Cepheid cultivates an experience where every associate feels a sense of belonging, develops to their potential, and meaningfully impacts Cepheid’s commitment to improve patient outcomes through innovative diagnostic solutions. To achieve this ambition, the leader, along with members of the HR Leadership Team, will shape the longer-term, integrated talent management strategy at Cepheid, foster an environment committed to authenticity, innovation, and inclusivity, and build a culture of excellence in HR as we elevate our partnership with the business and our stakeholders.
Talent Management: Design and Execute Relevant and Business-Focused Talent Solutions
Design and develop strategic talent solutions that enable Cepheid’s business priorities, particularly needs that arise from the strategy planning process and organization design, strategy, and talent discussions.
Deploy learning solutions at the Cepheid and functional level: design, facilitate, coach.
Serve as a key thought partner — advising, mentoring, and influencing HR, the President as well as the rest of the leadership team on matters of talent, succession, people development, and diversity & inclusion.
Lead on core talent processes for leadership team talent reviews. Use DBS to measure impact, problem-solve, and design, launch and sustain local solutions, where appropriate, that meet unique Platform business needs.
Serve as consultant and coach to business and HR leaders on talent management. Partner with business leaders to understand and address organization design and functional capability gaps. Work with businesses to identify, develop and advance the careers of the current and future pipeline of leaders for senior leader positions across Cepheid and Danaher.
Track movement / progress / trends of talent in critical funnels driving purpose and business needs. Analyze broad internal talent data to proactively identify and address key talent trends.
Lead the execution behind the development of a robust workforce plan for the long-term future of the organization; benchmarks the broader healthcare industry to stay current on trends affecting the talent pipeline; implement an analytical, scalable, data-based approach to building Cepheid's organization.

Partner with Cepheid leaders across business and HR to design and develop innovative diversity & inclusion practices.
Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to help develop strategies and processes to help attract and recruit top diversity talent globally.
Partner with Danaher diversity & inclusion office to share standard methodologies, support the Danaher Diversity vision, and ensure all Danaher programs are appropriately cascaded throughout Cepheid.
Develop and deploy effective internal and external communications and branding to influence participation and perceptions of Cepheid as an employer of choice, committed to the attraction, retention, and development of all.
Demonstrate accountability, leadership, and influence to set and achieve metrics related to talent, diversity, equity, and inclusion; leverage insights to drive critical outcomes for Cepheid’s business and associates.
External Community: Establish robust external partnerships through participation on councils, conferences, task forces, and professional affiliations as required to strengthen diversity & inclusion solutions, perceptions, and impact with Cepheid and to external audiences.
Leadership: Demonstrate inspirational leadership of Talent and Diversity & Inclusion teams
Hire, integrate, and lead a diverse and high-performing team who are thought partners to the business and HRBP / COE teams across disciplines.
Demonstrate matrix leadership across HR function as member of HR Leadership Team.
Drive greater team collaboration, communication, and cohesion.
Demonstrate the Danaher Core Behaviors of apply insights, instill trust, deliver results, and win as a team; ensure thoughtful measures to learn and sustain DBS culture at Cepheid.

Able to build the HR processes necessary to assess the implementation and effectiveness of critical HR systems related to talent, diversity, and inclusion
Has a proven track record of communicating the people and organizational issues in a data-oriented fashion with the use of scorecards and metrics
Has a sense of urgency but focuses on longer-term organizational capability
A visible and hands-on teammate with proven ability to partner across the business and remain operationally involved.
Able to maintain a strong work ethic in a dynamic environment and able to lead expectations
Collaborates with senior leaders to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
Persuasive communicator who can deliver concise, incisive, logical written documents and who has the presence to deliver recommendations effectively to demanding audiences
Minimum 15+ years of leadership level Human Resources experience. The successful candidate will have broad-based human resources experience and have a demonstrated ability to maintain a detailed knowledge of a company’s human resources activities.
Brings a history of driving and successfully leading change and improving an HR organization

The Successful Candidate
Qualifications and Experience:
20+ Years in Human Resources with 10+ years in Talent Management (L&D, D&I)
5+ years in a HRBP role
Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology or Organizational Behavior (preferred)
Travel: between 25% to 50%
