Danaher Corporation Preventative Maintenance - Production Engineer in San Dimas, California
Summary:The role of the “Production Engineer” will be to provide engineering services for the manufacturing areas. The role will include evaluating current manufacturing equipment and providing recommendation to modernize equipment. Other activities would include troubleshooting production equipment, setting up Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, managing equipment purchases, maintenance budgets and managing controls and automation projects. The position requires knowledge or operational familiarity in hydraulics, automation, automated assembly lines, filling operations and troubleshooting and hands on skills for repair and replacement of non-functioning components”. The engineer will be responsible for the uptime tracking of the equipment and upkeep of equipment documentation.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Identify manufacturing equipment deficiencies and propose equipment modifications or new design
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Prepares process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Evaluate current fixtures/equipment and make recommendation to address higher productivity and ease of use (ergonomics)
Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
Respond promptly to requests for equipment service
Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future equipment requirements.
Track equipment uptime, repair and maintenance cost.
Maintain critical parts inventory
Work closely with Procurement and/or vendors to assure timely delivery of parts
Provide training and guidance to technicians regarding machine operation and maintenance
Perform other functions required for the development, commercialization and/or support of new products, as required
While this role is posted in many cities it is ONLY AVAILABLE onsite at our Torrance location.
Assigned to the day shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) allows for commuting outside of rush hour traffic.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required
Minimum of 3+ years' manufacturing experience
Key attributes and skills desired:
Experience in pneumatics, electro-mechanical and hydraulic required
Modeling capabilities is a plus – SolidWorks preferred
Experience in FMEA a plus
Experience in different fabrication processes including machining and injection molding
