The Vice President, Global Supply Chain is accountable for setting up processes and systems for procurement, compliance, sourcing strategy, inbound/outbound logistics, and working capital management while providing overall functional leadership. The Vice President also ensures supplier readiness to support global product development activities for reagents/assays. The leader will collaborate closely with Planning, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and other functions to coordinate the efficient and effective deployment of materials worldwide with principles of continuous cost and service level improvement and security. The Vice President will oversee CEP Ops strategic projects and the business systems roadmap, working through the functional leader.
The VP leads through Danaher Business System lean practices and thrives in a cross-functional, matrix environment where continuous improvement is the cultural norm. They must be comfortable leading through influence and effectively communicate within the company and with external partners. This position is part of the Manufacturing and Operations Supply Chain Sr Leadership team and will be located onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA location. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations for Cepheid. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Architect supplier management best practices towards improving supply performance in terms of quality, on-time delivery and working capital turn improvement and oversight of the Supplier Risk & Continuity program, reporting Quarterly to Executive Leadership
Establish a multi-year cost reduction program throughout the entire supply chain through logistics productivity improvements, PPV and value engineering and business automation while increasing supply chain flexibility and scalability.
Drive quality, on-time delivery and cost position contribution to new product development roadmap
Provide leadership, mentorship and partnership to develop / execute supply chain strategies and tactics aligned with Cepheid Global Operations objectives in supporting a multi-billion-dollar company.
Manage compliance worldwide and ensure audit integrity.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with 5-7 years of managerial experience working across a global organization, preferably in a regulated industry
Demonstrated success in supplier management, cost reduction projects, VAVE, DPO/terms, on-time delivery, supplier sustainability, or experience in a mature industry/healthcare industry/consulting.
Previous ERP experience, preferably with QAD or SAP.
Demonstrated experience in negotiating using contract law/structure knowledge
Experience aligning business needs with external suppliers/internal stakeholders.
Experience in a make-or-buy project role.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
APICS certification, experience with Six Sigma/lean or Danaher Business System.
Demonstrated ability to construct, negotiate, and build consensus for complex contracts.
MBA or advanced law degree , with technical experience preferred.
The salary range for this role is 228,000 to 350,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
