As Application Scientist, your role is to perform feasibility, verification and validation studies for custom projects using biological models. The successful candidate will be an individual with a passion for customer satisfaction, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a results-oriented problem solver.
Work directly with Sales, Field Applications & external customers to understand specific scientific application requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams (hardware engineering, software, applications) to define & develop unique solutions to meet user needs
Develop and execute experimental plans to prove feasibility of achieving specific customer needs and to validate the final developed solutions.
Acquire and analyze data, interpret results and draw conclusions with complete records in accordance with quality system requirements.
Contribute to the publication and promotion of Molecular Devices products and scientific applications through presenting results at scientific conferences and in technical literature.
BS/MS with experience, Ph.D preferred, in Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field (will accept foreign education equivalent)
5+ years of laboratory experience: to include mammalian and microbial cell culture.
Demonstrated experience with verification and validation of scientific instruments and assays.
Ability to work on cross-functional teams as well as independently
Ability to adapt quickly to new projects and challenges
Strong, working knowledge of Molecular Devices instruments and software
Outstanding time management and prioritization skills
Ability to communicate effectively with scientists and non-scientists from diverse backgrounds
