Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Inventory and Procurement Specialist to join the Advanced Workflow & Engineered Solutions team. From custom optical systems new hardware and software applications and features, to automated workflow, the AWES team works on beneficial solutions to enhance our Life Science Instrument Cellular Imagers, Detectors and Colony Pickers!

The Inventory and Procurement Specialist has the primary responsibility of ensuring on time delivery of AWES projects by managing inventory levels and ensuring project schedules. Other responsibilities include creating and maintaining procurement and logistics processes using Continuous Improvement tools to support AWES. The successful help AWES scientists and engineers build great things and ensure excellence with on time and on budget delivery of projects. This position is onsite in San Jose, CA.

Key Deliverables:

  • Drive on time delivery of AWES projects through management of inventory based on forecast, demand and lead times.

  • Procure material per forecast and scheduled AWES projects

  • Manage and/or create AWES procurement and logistics processes using DBS tools.

  • Monitor and communicate status of open orders for on time delivery of materials and timely resolution of problems

  • Actively participate in resolution and mitigation of inventory issues, including expediting or deferring orders

  • Maintain AWES products installed base and manage work orders in ServiceMax

  • Perform supply chain functions as assigned

Responsibilities:

  • AWES Project Support

  • Part of project planning meetings to meet AWES customer demand

  • QDIP: AWES orders backlog

  • QDIP: Procurement updates

  • Lead AWES OTD

  • Misc. requests from AWES Engineers & Scientists

  • Adapts well to the changing needs of team

Inventory

  • Handle AWES Onsite Stockroom for released and expense items.

  • Manage offsite storage inventory

  • Daily Cycle Counts

  • Work with AWES engineers and scientists to maintain manual BOM for every AWES project

  • Create Oracle Work orders & issue items for all AWES orders

Third Party Vendors

  • Place orders with vendors for AWES specific items

  • Follow up with vendors to improve delivery dates

  • Manage repairs and RMA for third party instruments

Shipping

  • Help prepare for shipment: miscellaneous activities like coordinating crates and packaging

  • Coordinate shipments & deliveries with Shipping Department for Domestic & International orders

  • Provide support & documentation for custom items not in Oracle (compliance codes, weights and dimensions)

Post-sales support

  • Help Ops Manager in submitting COGS to Finance for month close.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Advanced skills in Oracle and MS Excel preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in inventory management and MRP

  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Enthusiastic and dedicated learner

  • Results-driven individual with passion for customer satisfaction and working in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Excellent communication, follow up and organizational skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
