Molecular Devices is looking for an energic, creative, inquisitive and highly capable Senior Financial Analyst who can build and sustain finance expenses and reporting models, engage with upper management as a strong business partner, and become a trusted financial advisor to VPs in the R&D and G&A organizations. This position will provide direct support for the US R&D and G&A business functions; as well as, will be responsible for the worldwide consolidation and reporting of OPEX, Headcount and Capital Expenditures to company executives. A successful candidate will exhibit strong business insight with a desire and ability to understand the business and not simply report on the business. They must not only be at ease partnering with senior management on resource and planning needs, but also enjoy identifying and driving operational improvements across the Finance and Accounting organization.Key responsibilities:
Act as the Finance business partner and own all aspects of planning and reporting for the assigned departments and their respective VPs
Consolidate trended flux commentary from Global FP&A teams
Prepare monthly executive management reports emphasizing operational and financial performance measurements, budget versus actuals, and provide trend analysis
Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate classifying and coding of transactions and month-end accruals
Prepare and publish global headcount reports on a monthly basis
Support and analyze Capital Expenditures
Maintain cost center hierarchy and corresponding details
Continuously drive improvements in our internal processes
Communicate effectively with colleagues from different functions, regions, and backgrounds
Support any ad-hoc questions and inquiries from business partners or management
BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
5+ years of proven experience in FP&A – Finance
Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills that effectively interpret problems to provide solutions
Proficient Excel capabilities including creating automated models and workbooks using formulas, look-ups, and pivot table
Outstanding prioritization skills (strong ability to organize multiple, competing priorities)
Experience with HFM, Hyperion, Essbase planning
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with leadership
Natural bias towards continuous improvement
Preferred education and experience based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity.
