Danaher Corporation Sr. Systems Engineer in San Jose, California
Our growing portfolio for protein and cell biology markets requires the addition of an experienced systems engineer to facilitate the development and transfer of complex, customized products into user friendly, robust, and manufacturable standard offerings. The systems engineer will team up with a talented group of engineers in R&D, Operations, and Service to review product designs, confirm requirements, and deliver strategic projects on time and on spec to new customers, driving breakthrough growth for the business. The successful candidate will drive analysis to prioritize business opportunities, win over cross functional staff to gain commitment, continuously improve processes, and drive complex projects to completion.
Plan and estimate resources, schedule and investment budget of project opportunities.
Develop detailed attributes and requirements for new systems and subsystems.
Utilize FMEA to optimize manufacturing quality and reliability.
Lead the assembly, calibration, and verification of system and subsystem prototypes.
Generate and execute test plans to create sustainable, predictable validation work for guaranteed quality.
Work directly and communicate regularly with an international supply chain.
Continuously develop and implement improvements in processes through the Danaher Business System in order to increase project efficiency and improve cadence.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree or above in Engineering or Science subject.
3-5 years in Engineering Design, New Product Introduction, Project Management, and Systems validation.
Strong analytical skills, using data to drive decisions including Design of Experiments and FMEA
Expertise in hardware system verification including laboratory equipment, fixturing, and experiment design.
Experience with lean tools desirable, examples: 5S, Standard Work, KANBAN, Policy Deployment, Value Stream Management, Visual Management.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Familiarity with Git, Python, C, and RTOS
Familiarity with Optical design and verification
