Danaher Corporation Technical Project Manager in San Jose, California

The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the tactical activities of a cross-functional team tasked with design and implementation of custom Access workstations and automated systems. This role will guide all aspects associated with the project life cycle of custom systems, from pre-sale (quote review, technical sales support, presenting of solutions, etc.), customer communication/coordination leading up to FAT, through the installation activities including SAT completion and field handoff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead cross-functional and technical teams to execute on project priorities and timelines

  • Support the management team by creating Project documentation including project schedules, budgets, risk and issue logs, Change Requests, JIRA boards

  • Plan and schedule resources with internal Resource Management(s) and Heads of Department for the project lifecycle, ensuring that resources have the right skills and availability to complete project tasks

  • Drive the creation of technical specifications, design specifications, and system validation plans

  • Partner with Supply Chain to maintain good supplier relationships in order to meet timeline, performance, and support expectations

  • Customer Success focused project management – emphasis on delivering value for customers and time to value

  • Provide feedback into QMS processes that promote time to value

  • Accountability for projects under management - sole responsibility for client deliverables

  • Proactively provide product feedback to product development

  • Management of requirements gathering & documentation processes

  • Any other reasonable tasks as determined by manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree, technical preferred

  • Extensive demonstrated Project Management experience and skills – certification a plus

  • Strong motivational leadership skills and the ability to influence others without direct authority

  • Up to 10% travel required; willingness to travel to APAC region / language fluency a plus

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Working knowledge of JIRA

  • Relevant life sciences/pharmaceutical industry knowledge

  • Excellent commercial awareness

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
