For our Team based in Schwaikheim (Stuttgart area) we are looking for a Production Mechanical Engineer (f/m/d).

Job Summary:

In this role you`ll be responsible for Advance Operational Execution and Accelerate Growth through Engineering projects contributing to specific or multiple Product Value Streams and throughout the entire product life cycle. This includes the transition from product prototype phase to manufacturing at scale, extending the product life cycle through construction, material and manufacturing process upgrades, Value Analyses / Value Engineering, Proactive material consolidation and preventing product obsolescence, Transfer product lines from Site-to Site and continuous improvements to remove bottlenecks in respective Product Value Streams. As a Product Engineer you represent the design authority after product launch and interface number of functions including R&D, SLS, Molding Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Operations and QA/QC.

The majority of the role is:

  • Be responsible for the Production Preparation Process associated with product prototype transition to manufacturing at scale

  • Implementing continuous improvements through VAVE; 3P; VSM; SW; 5S, VPM; and Transactional process improvements Lean Tools

  • Implementing DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) on next generation and progressive new product development projects

  • Implementing Problem Solving Process to effectively close performance gaps by getting to the true root cause and implementing effective, sustainable countermeasures

  • Evaluation of the baseline manufacturing performance as a base for the Value Stream improvements. This includes preparation and evaluation of test reports, numerical modeling of processes and systems, preparation of process characteristics, development of layouts for new manufacturing steps or lines.

  • Active participation in the Continuous Improvement projects.

  • Standardize and streamline the product manufacturing processes and materials of products to achieve material productivity and Plant productivity targets.

Education & Professional Background

  • MSc. in Sci/Engineering (university of applied science or university) in mechanical engineering, material science, chemical engineering, paper technology, power engineering or a similar field of study

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office / SAP

  • Several years’ experience in an industrial company; experience in the implementation and management of investment/modernization projects (analysis, value calculation, implementation)

  • Creative thinking and enjoying to contribute new ideas

  • Ability to translate new product ideas into production

  • Ability to communicate on individual levels

  • Good knowledge of both written and spoken in English and in German
