The Key Account Representative (KAR) is responsible developing, growing and maintaining all opportunities and managing the HemoCue point of care screening business in the Blood Bank and Public Health (WIC) segment. The KAR will have full contract negotiation and maintenance responsibility as well as responsibility for leading the response team on all Public Health bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with all levels of blood bank donor screening programs.

  • Consultative selling across blood bank accounts to optimize deferral rates.

  • Clinical sales of quality control (QC) tests for stored red blood cells.

  • Act as the Request for Proposal (RFP) process driver for continued business maintenance and development of new business.

  • Effective management of large-scale government bids and expiring contracts.

  • Partner/mentor with Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) to cover large territories.

Position Specific Proficiencies / Experience

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in sales, marketing, training, or corporate accounts in healthcare industry.

  • Demonstrated strong territory management and contract maintenance skills.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to make critical and timely decisions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree.

It

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and proficiency using Custom Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage business.
