Manufacturing engineer is responsible for maintenance of assigned product lines, which mainly includes process buildup and improvement, troubleshooting and daily support for manufacturing activities, analysis of both customers’ quality issues and internal quality issues, vendor quality issues improvement, support for localization and saving projects and support for new product introduction.
Manage (define, verify and implement) subassembly / system assembling and testing procedures in manufacturing – including defining and optimizing test software
Customer complaint investigation, responsible for product quality improvement and improving external quality performance (OBQ & Warranty)
Investigate and resolve any quality issue during manufacturing.
Drive for solving vendor quality issues and vendor quality performance improvement
Evaluate/initiate and implement engineering change requests.
Provide engineering support to manufacturing for external/internal quality issues, last time buy (LTB), line down issues and cost reduction projects (e.g. LCR, VAVE).
Coordinate and perform tests which cover performance characterization, specification verification, and compliance to safety, EMC, environmental and reliability requirements on new and existing products
Participate NPI projects at early stage, mainly contribute from manufacturing perspective (e.g. MFG process capability, LCR suppliers’ technical capability, minor design outsourcing), and bridge the NPI process between R&D and Operation.
Management of Manufacturing Prototype phase and Pilot phases during new product introductions
Optical, EE or Mechanical Bachelor degree or above
3+ years’ experience related to instrument manufacturing
Practical “System Engineering” know-how with good understanding of engineering principles
Good logical analysis capability, familiar with problem solving tools (e.g. PSP, DMAIC)
Familiar with using various optical, electronical or mechanical test and measurement tools
Good spoken and written English
Good communication skill and team-worker
Willing to work with design team in Europe and US
Willing to travel domestically or overseas
Job experiences in bio-analytical instruments manufacturing is preferred
Strong debug and troubleshooting experience in electronical component/PCBA level would be a plus
Practical experience of introducing new products to manufacturing
Experience in Optical & Mechanical & Electronical system design would be a plus
Experience in writing and supporting test software development/improvement would be a plus
