Position Summary: The VP/GM & Site Leader for Leica Biosystems’ CoE in Shanghai is responsible for driving operational CVD, and functional excellence in product development and manufacturing, delivering on-time Best-In-Class products for LBS’s customers from our Center of Excellence in Shanghai, China. Enabling functional teams to execute on strategy that drives exceptional customer experience, on-time delivery and revenue achievement.

This position is part of the General Management team located in Shanghai and will be On-site.

You will be responsible for R&D, product management, and manufacturing effectiveness and continuous improvement across multiple disciplines. Further, you will enable all functional teams to execute on strategy that drives exceptional customer experience and revenue achievement. In this role, you will have the importunity to:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the production manufacturing and R&D center.

  • Assumes full responsibility for P&L, business management, and decision-making within the LBS China COE.

  • Drive the development of portfolio innovation and manufacturing strategy, providing leadership and guidance to ensure success.

  • Lead the resolution of complex and unique challenges where process optimization is the key driver for continuous improvement in CVD growth.

  • Co-lead business transformation for Core Histology

  • Lead activities to improve LBS’ Global manufacturing and sourcing resilience and China-4-China R&D and manufacturing efforts for LBS cross-business unit.

  • Oversee site relocation and ensure milestones and objectives achieved.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement through DBS.

  • Work closely with Business Unit leaders and their senior leadership teams across multiple regions (Australia, Germany, US) to support technology and design transfer, quality assurance, regulatory alignment, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Champion inspiring vision for team through building followership; drive a sustainable approach for associate engagement and DEI.

  • Develop talent pipeline, inspiring leaders across several disciplines.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Proven leadership and management experience in a similar role

  • Strong customer focus and strategic thinking

  • Excellent problem-solving skills in complex situations and across multiple functions and regions

  • Excellent global communication and influencing skills

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure

  • Familiar with quality management systems

  • Proficiency in English

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Proven leadership and management experience in health care industry.

  • Advanced degree in relevant field (Engineering, Science)
