The Chief Financial Officer, Danaher Southeast Asia & ANZ (CFO) is responsible to lead all financial and business planning activities for the group, including day-to-day operations. Furthermore, the CFO will support 15+ operating companies on business improvement initiatives, financial analysis and planning, treasury, tax, capex analysis as well as longer term activities and projects which might include, M&A due diligence, GST and other special projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Strategic Planning/Analysis: You will serve as key member of the senior management team in developing and implementing long term business plans including expense and capital budgeting. As a partner to the SE Asia & ANZ President , you will act as a leader with a point of view in providing analytical insight and perspectives, other operating company CFOs as well as regional leadership. You will also lead financial analysis activities related to the review of ongoing operating performance and in support of major corporate initiatives such as new business ventures, entry of new operating companies, business acquisitions etc.

  • Financial Reporting: You will be responsible for preparation of financial, analytical reports in a timely fashion, including analysis of performance, various explanations, and cash flow-to the strictest standards of accounting and the law. Develop meaningful management reporting that focuses on key performance measurements that drive business results. Specifically, this includes financial planning, budgets, forecasts, and risk and opportunity assessments.

  • Business Advisor: You will partner with & serve as a financial and business advisor to the SE Asia & ANZ President , individual operating company CFOs and to other members of the management team. Contribute actively to the evolution and execution of the Danaher’s business plans.

  • Taxation and Treasury: You will provide leadership to the treasury function including the management of cash flows, banking relationships and foreign exchange in accordance with group HQ policies. Handle the taxation function including compliance, litigation and advisory as well as country-specific appointments of consultants and in-house talent

  • Control Environment: You will be responsible for ensuring the fiscal integrity of Danaher’s business through the improvement and management of accounting systems and controls.

  • Financial/IT Systems and DBS: You will partner with Finance & business teams to continuously improve financial systems, processes and productivity while providing accurate and timely accounting information in compliance with regulatory requirements and international tax jurisdictions. Ensure the implementation of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) in all Operating Companies driving a culture of Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation. Leverage the latest technologies in the form of ERPs/ other IT solutions to maximize the efficiency of financial and other systems

  • Financial Talent Development: A key responsibility of your role will be to provide strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top-quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years of experience and minimum 4 years of CFO/Finance Head experience in a multinational company.

  • Finance Expertise: You will be a credible finance leader who commands the immediate respect of the management team. Experience in dealing with business complexity and direct experience from a CFO role within a multi country business operation environment is important. Demonstrated expertise in accounting, treasury, and tax, financial planning, including the ability to develop analyses, performance measures and incentives that drive profitable operations, are highly important. Exposure to M&A and new business ventures could be advantageous.

  • Critical Thinking: Is an Able advisor to the CEO on strategic and business issues. Understands how to effectively balance between central controls and independence of operating companies. Possessed of a strong commercial orientation and a validated ability to partner with business managers and operating teams in developing growth-oriented business plans. Capable of challenging senior and line management in a constructive and balanced way.

  • Influencing and People Leadership: Has the ability to operate effectively across a complex matrix and actively add value to decisions on finance and business issues. The CFO will be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to diverse internal and external constituencies. As a culturally sensitive leader, you must be able to work with a diverse group of executives across numerous functions; be able to build support from people, motivate teams, take an active participation in their professional development, promote teamwork, foster open communication within its direct reports and staff, and build relationships which help create an environment in which people feel comfortable.

  • Process Efficiency and Innovation: Is able to lead and achieve budget targets for headcount and expenses; actively support local & regional management through resource sharing to optimize capacity; ensure the organization has capability in geographic locations where risk exits; consistently apply the Danaher Business Systems to businesses, processes and situations. Experience with design, implementation and upgradation of IT systems and solutions is important. Fosters and drives a culture of innovation within the organization where individuals and teams are encouraged and empowered to approach situations with creativity.

  • Humility and Transparency: Takes clear ownership of setbacks, bottlenecks and issues and communicates the same in a timely manner. Adopts a grounds-on and solution-oriented approach to dealing with issues.

  • Customer Focus: Contributes as a partner to the region executive leadership team. Provide timely and comprehensive counsel to the region leadership as to risks inherent in new strategies, emerging business initiatives being developed, and in the overall control environment. Identify and communicate risk areas and control gaps as well as developing well-thought, practical resolutions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – travel is required within SEA and ANZ
