  • The Director, APAC Logistics and Distribution for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for oversight and direction across the APAC Logistics & Distribution organization. This position will be responsible for providing transportation and distribution thought leadership, as well as the execution of all key logistics processes across the region. This leadership role will manage a diverse team responsible for the monitoring of the flow of goods, services, and information from origin through delivery in order to meet customer requirements.

This position is part of the Global Operations Function and will be located in Singapore. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to advance healthcare for every person and work with every customer to deliver innovative, reliable and efficient diagnostic solutions for patients across the globe.

  • You will be a part of the Global Logistics & Distribution team and report to the Vice President of Global Logistics & Distribution responsible for execution on key performance indicators (KPI) and the continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as replenishment systems, data interchange systems, electronic data systems administration, transportation and warehouse operations, and related functions by means of data gathering, data analysis, measures and metrics development, projections, trends, variances and graphical depiction of elements, for business decision-making, risk analysis and process optimization. The role operates in an FDA/CE-IVD regulated market space and will adhere to all standards for Quality, Medical Device Regulation, and international Trade Compliance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build and implement a new organizational strategy that supports the L&D Control Tower concept and creates value for internal and external customers

  • Develop new processes and build a strong foundation for L&D organization in the APAC region

  • Create and implement new logistics processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the region

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders through logistics initiatives, projects, events, and networking opportunities

  • Partner with 3PLs and other logistics providers to develop and execute logistics initiatives designed to improve the customer experience and increase productivity

  • Collaborate within the supply chain and distribution network to increase competitive advantage and positively impact core value drivers

  • Lead a diverse, virtual L&D Leadership Team and be a catalyst for accountability, empowered ideas, continuous improvements, trust and respect, strong two-way communication and technology integration

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive logistics roadmap for the APAC region that associates can understand, support and execute

  • Oversee logistics budgets and metrics by analyzing and reporting data, providing leadership and direction to address areas of concern

  • Lead compliance and governance matters which include internal/external audits and compliance with policies, procedures and government regulations;

  • Ensure use of common processes and practices and implement operational/lean improvements to be shared across departments and functions within the business;

  • Lead projects with peer functional areas and staff (Finance/HR/IT/Facilities) to build relationships, secure support and resources for projects and provide needed support for other critical initiatives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, finance, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred

  • A minimum of 14 years’ experience, preferably in multiple aspects of logistics and distribution in large volume, high value companies

  • Strong, proven and visible leadership history

  • Proven ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement in complex operations

  • Broad supply chain background and experience to include; logistics and distribution, transportation management, 3PL management and operational leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to lead both insourced and outsourced logistics operations across a multi-continent network

  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets, and program performance and develop strategies to improve performance in these areas

  • Demonstrated people-management skills, and experience leading large teams; ability to coach, motivate and empower others and to develop talent

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan

  • Proven ability to collaborate across the organization and operate effectively within a matrix environment by resolving conflict and influencing others

  • Strong risk and opportunity management skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity
