Technician I (Lab Assistant / Intern)
Reports to: Production Manager/ Assistant Production Manager

Purpose statement:
To assist with MNP manpower utilization and creation of a headcount model focusing on Main Processing processes. To also provide support in the oligonucleotide manufacturing processes whenever required.
Essential Functions:
Perform a time study to calculate resource and manpower utilization (e.g. process cycle times).
Chemical Synthesis of short strands of DNA (Oligonucleotides).
Performing cleaning and recycling of plates used in production.
Post synthesis processing.
QC sampling & Yield quantification.
Other duties assigned by management.
Practice safe work practices and comply with IDT safety policy.
Comply with IDT’s Quality Policy and adhere to ISO 9001 Standards & requirements.
Education:
- Diploma / Degree in industrial and operations management / science related field or an equivalent combination of education & experience required.
Professional Experience:
Good to have a basic knowledge of Operations planning.
Must have the ability to learn the basic knowledge of laboratory manufacturing processes.
Must be comfortable working with chemicals and follow proper safety and handling instructions.
Must have the ability to work with computer software (e.g. Microsoft Excel) for calculations and templates creation.

Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.
Visual Acuity:
Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
Ability to accurately read measurements on equipment.
Ability to prepare and read written documentation, use of computer.
