We currently offer the following position in our office in Singapore which will be hybrid working arrangement.

Overview

Drive sourcing activities through Commodity Management and Complexity Reduction to meet overall company objectives.

Responsibilities

Commodity Management

  • Defines, develops and implements a sourcing strategy for the Electrical-Electronics/Electro-mechanical commodities including technology direction, supplier analysis, development & selection, and pricing strategy.

  • Acts as primary interface with suppliers for all relationship and commercial management (contracts/agreements and Pricing);

  • Maintains sustainable relationships and partnerships with suppliers to optimize procurement spend and fulfil the assigned commodities cost target.

  • Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, market intelligence, suppliers, contracts/agreements.

  • Evaluates the supplier base encompassing technical capability, quality sustainment, and costs deliverables.

  • Identifies and builds PPV funnels, implements cost savings opportunities.

  • Manages critical shortage, develop strategies on constrained commodities.

  • Leads and coordinates Engineering Change (EC) activities (datasheet, alternative part sourcing, purchase request, First Article (FA) samples delivery, etc) among cross-functional team members and suppliers.

  • Negotiates contracts/agreements (commercial and terms of supply). Conducts price negotiations and conducts annual business reviews (SBR) on suppliers’ performance indicators; Establishing the business framework for transactions, business development and supplier development initiatives.

  • Leads and drives transactional process improvement. Defines new business processes and implements new tools/ processes.

  • Comply and adhere to company’s Quality Management System and Environment, Health & Safety requirements.

New Product Introduction (Sourcing)

  • Primary EE Sourcing lead of all NPI projects.

  • Manages RFQ packages, leads DFM discussions with suppliers and internal key stakeholders (R&D, Industrial Engineering, SQE) to meet drawing specifications and achieve optimal component cost and quality.

  • Manages FA (First Article) submission timeline, qualification status and approval records. Expedite resolution of FA failures to meet the project target milestone.

  • Ensures supply chain connectivity of all parts during Product Transfer and NPI builds till Tollgate 5 phase.

Others

  • Provides leadership (support and coaching) to all NPI cross-functional team members towards delivering overall performance of department NPI’s KPIs.

  • Participates and keep abreast of DBS tools, such as 5S, DMP, SW, TPI to drive continuous improvement with sustainable results.

  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Sourcing Manager.

Requirements

  • Degree in either Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Management of Technology, or similar discipline with at least 10 years’ experience in sourcing, purchasing and process engineering in a high-mix low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing environment and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.

  • Experience in project transfer and project management skills.

  • Ability to comprehend engineering drawings and BOM independently for the purposes of suppliers’ qualification & selection.

  • Knowledge of APAC suppliers (EE/Electro-Mechanical) base as well as knowledge in SAP and MS Office, Project Management tools.

  • Able to commit to travel to suppliers at least 20% of the time.
