Danaher Corporation Technician II (Lab Equipment Troubleshooting) in Singapore, Singapore
Purpose statement:
Responsible for daily monitoring and preventive maintenance for Laboratory Equipment and Facilities, performing calibrations and troubleshooting, ensuring that all necessary tasks are performed in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Install/Assemble new equipment, carry out repair and preventive maintenance tasks of selected building-related systems, DNA/RNA synthesizers, synthesis benches and related systems, cleaving machines, purification systems, laboratory automation and other laboratory equipment.
Monitor operation and performance of facility equipment on a daily basis and make adjustment as needed. Eg: HVAC, Air compressor, BMS system, DI water system, UPS.
Performs testing on various type of equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
Follow standard operating procedures and work instruction documents while performing repair, maintenance, calibration.
Coordinate and supervise contractors to assure necessary services are provided and meet Company standards.
Provide input to design staff regarding new equipment, and constructive feedback regarding existing equipment, to streamline troubleshooting and service requirements, and to increase product quality.
Implement basic housekeeping rules for entire facility.
Assist in responding to chemical spills.
Report any problems to Management.
Perform other duties as specified by Management.
Be aware of the quality policy and contribute to achieving quality goals by following all related procedures and work instructions. And by doing so adhere to the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard applied within the company, where applicable.
Practice safe working habits, follow all IDT safety policies, perform safety checks on equipment and systems, and identify, correct, and report potential safety hazards.
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
Professional Experience:
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical repair techniques.
Prior service experience (preventive maintenance/ installation/ commissioning/ troubleshooting/ repair) with Laboratory Equipment or Medical Devices.
Other Job Qualifications
Must be comfortable working with chemicals and follow proper safety and handling instructions.
Must be able to work as a group or independently.
Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to maintain several projects at one time.
Able to interact in a professional manner with customers, employees, and all levels of management.
