Danaher Corporation Head of Category Management in Solna, Sweden

As the Head of Category Management, you will be responsible for defining short-term and long-term strategies on all category spend initiatives within the organisation in Solna Sweden.

You will be managing a team of four Commodity Business managers and report to the Director of Purchasing.

You will be leading the transformational programme by developing complex strategies across several sectors and categories whilst encompassing a holistic approach covering strategic demand planning and supply-side dynamics.

Broken down into many sub-categories, it will be your responsibility to analyse the current state-of-play, determine the full capabilities of your suppliers both on a skill and regional compliance point of view and then execute strategic sourcing initiatives.

  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders up to board level and cross-functionally.

  • Assess the long-term needs of the organisation, not just the short-term

  • Responsible for Category management on behalf of Cepheid, including contracts, key negotiations, supplier performance management, and is the primary contact for escalations related to supplier.

  • Develop, align, and implement global sourcing strategies for the commodities assigned by focusing on lowest total cost of ownership and flexibility through supplier segmentation, development and management.

  • Negotiates and maintains agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Cepheid and suppliers.

  • Engages with the NPI process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.

  • Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.

  • Excellent communication skills both in Swedish & English (oral and written)

  • Demonstrated track-record of successful teamwork

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience OR

  • Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience

  • Documented experience in managing people.
