Danaher Corporation Senior Manager Failure Investigation (temporary position) in Solna, Sweden

Manages the teams within Failure Investigation under Technical Operation (TPA) in Solna and is in this role mainly responsible for the investigation of external and internal quality issues encountered for products, WIP, consumables and reagents manufactured, or used in manufacturing, at Cepheid Solna. Managing the Failure investigation teams also includes the responsibility for team activities such as, monitoring product performance and driving product and process improvements. Furthermore, the role includes identifying and monitoring key performance indicators for the activities within the group and to assign, delegate and prioritize the work based on customer needs. This senior role also entails the responsibility to organize, evaluate and develop direct reports, managers and teams to ensure efficient operation within Failure Investigation.


  • Manage Customer Complaints; Investigation and Reports

  • Manage investigation of quality issues in manufacturing regarding product & component function; Product Function NCRs

  • Manage product and process improvements using DBS tools (PSP) and implementing corrective/preventive actions

  • Manage the trending of product function; SPT tool

  • Identify key KPIs, monitor performance and assign actions through Daily Management

  • Prioritizes and assigns work based on customer needs, quality demands and value in concordance with company KPIs

  • Assigns, develops and evaluates managers & direct reports to ensure efficient operation of the different functions within Failure Investigation

  • Support and provide product expertise in Change Management, CAPA investigations, Risk Assessments

  • Provides input to budget/forecast for the department

  • Assigns, develops and evaluates managers & direct reports to ensure efficient operation of the different functions within Failure Investigation


  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

Education and Experience (in years):

  • Ph.D in Life Sciences with 5 years of relevant professional experience, or MS in Life Sciences with 8 years of relevant professional experience or Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience

Knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams

  • Experience working in a regulated industry

  • Excellent leadership skills and an strong ability to engage, motivate and develop colleagues

  • Excellent communication skills both in Swedish & English (oral and written)

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams in a global environment

  • Demonstrated track-record of successful teamwork

  • Ability to handle multiple investigations/tasks with short deadlines simultaneously

Physical requirements/abilities

Ability to work in an office, laboratory and production environment
