Market Development Manager, Next Generation Sequencing

Preferred Locations: Coralville, IA; Boston, MA; Redwood City, CA; San Diego, CADepartment: Commercial Marketing

Purpose Statement

As a Market Development Manager, NGS for IDT’s global marketing organization, candidates are responsible for understanding customer needs within the next generation sequencing market segment and using that knowledge and experience to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive revenue via lead generation tactics. Candidates must demonstrate seniority and significant experience with all facets of marketing to collaborate effectively with customers and internal IDT associates. This role involves managing and influencing cross-functional teams — successful candidates will have great leadership and communications skills.

Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions

  • Possess a strong understanding of customer needs within the next generation sequencing library prep & enrichment market segments, through direct customer contact and primary and secondary research.

  • Work with IDT Product Marketing/Management, Product Development, and Project Management — as well as with Global Sales and Regional Marketing — to develop accurate marketing personas, effective customer segmentation strategies, insightful buyer journeys, and useful value propositions and key messages specific to the next generation sequencing market segment.

  • Design and execute lead generation campaigns to achieve funnel and revenue goals.

  • Define GTM strategy for IDT’s NGS product portfolio.

  • Partner with inside and field sales to progress leads through the sales funnel through nurture and other tactics.

  • Collaborate with content writers, branding and public relations, collateral design, and search engine optimization experts to ensure that campaign tactics match market segment needs.

  • Work with third parties to drive NGS product awareness and positioning.

  • Work with IDT leadership to support joint business activities and partnerships with key customers and industry groups.

  • Monitor the success of marketing campaigns by using advanced digital tagging and metrics to ensure that key performance indicators are met, and campaigns demonstrate a positive return on investment.

  • Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration/marketing, or related required

  • MBA/Masters/PhD preferred

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, business development, customer management, product management, or lead generation activities required.

  • 2+ years of experience in the next generation sequencing market segment or related life sciences technology market segments required.

  • Experience working/collaborating with KOLs and customers required.

  • Experience conducting voice of customer (VOC) market work required.

  • Extensive experience with defining marketing strategy and creating marketing campaigns and marketing plans required

  • Product marketing experience required.
