Customs Compliance Manager

Your challenge

You will have the opportunity to build process and procedures that will ensure our international trade is conducted in a fully compliant manner and with efficiency. You will need to be a subject matter expert on legislations and any changes to ensure our processes and systems support these requirements.

You will also work with teams to identify and implement process improvements within the customer service teams to drive improved customer experience and business efficiency whilst ensuring things are done the right way.

As the Customs Compliance Manager at Linx, you will:

  • Ensure Linx Import and Export processes are compliant to all relevant standards

  • Support and advise on all international import / export requirements especially with new processes brought upon by Brexit.

  • Provide training and support to associates on the relevant aspects of customs compliance

  • Drive system improvements and implement poke yoke (mistake proof) processes

  • Provide customs compliance guidance to the Linx distribution network and input into the channel on-boarding processes

  • Lead an internal Audit program to highlight any compliance gaps and work with stakeholders to close any gaps identified

  • Coordinate trade related archiving requirements, ensure that trade compliance records are kept and retrievable, as defined in the relevant instructions and regulations

Critical Success Factors for the Ideal Candidate Profile are:

  • A detail orientated and creative professional with a capability for building relationships, influencing individuals and teams, and challenging the status quo

  • Able to understand complex international trade arrangements and convert these into robust operational processes

  • Non compromising eye for detail

  • Customer focused and also a great teammate

  • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand and interpret business needs and develop these into executable actions

Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant industry experience

  • 3+ years in a leadership / influencing role

  • Import and Export licensing experience

  • Dangerous goods (DG) and Approved Exporter Status (AES) experience preferable
