This is an outstanding opportunity to

Contribute in a meaningful way on the development of the next Linx product portfolio, developing the core technology that drives our printers.

In this role you will be developing new sub-systems and technology-based products for industrial printing applications. Reporting to the Hardware Engineering Manager in Linx St Ives, this position is a great opportunity to develop the next technology for our products. Starting from the concept stage, the successful candidate will work in a team to develop working lab demonstrators, prototypes and ultimately technology suitable for production.

The position is, for an Electronics Engineer, who has an excellent technology development ability, from a fundamental and theoretical understanding, through to modelling, prototyping, testing and development. This role will require extensive use of simulation and modelling, laboratory build prototypes, development, and refinement to establish the next generation of technical advances. This will be in collaboration with other OpCos, so working and travelling between the Huntingdon and St Ives site is likely. You will work in a collaborative environment, where support and encouragement are provided to grow and develop.

Your responsibilities as an Inkjet Development Electronics Engineer at Linx, include:

  • Generating and developing innovative solutions to meet our customer’s rapidly growing needs, covering all aspects of electronics engineering and physics, including electro-mechanical and fluid dynamics.

  • Technology development, to provide competitive advantage in the industrial inkjet market.

  • Setting up and performing laboratory tests and experiments, analysing the results, and refining theoretical models based on real world observations.

  • Working across OpCos and all fields in Engineering, to take the technology from an idea to a solution suitable for a mass production process, developing rapport, engagement and understanding between all parties.

  • Creative problem solving and troubleshooting, across a diverse, multi-disciplinary development team.

  • Technical specialist on electronics engineering matters, whilst ensuring and maintaining a professional and safe working environment

Your Education and/or Background Experience will include:

  • Honours Degree in Electronics/ Physics or related Engineering field or time-served experience in a relevant industry

  • Working in a multidisciplinary R&D team to craft and develop components and products incorporating electronics and software within the Engineering department of a commercial company.

  • Detailed knowledge on topics including modelling from first principles, sophisticated system integration, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.

  • Experienced in developing and leading laboratory designed experiments.

  • Experienced in software packages, to aid modelling, simulation and data analysis
