The Field Service Engineer is responsible to maintain, install and repair Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites, including strategic accounts. This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues. Partners with Sales and Service management to drive customer satisfaction and business objectives. Mentors and develops staff members on more sophisticated instrumentation and complex workflows. Primary Responsibilities
Completes and successfully pass assigned training tasks on assigned products and responsibilities
Deep knowledge of Sciex and OEM products
Experienced and proficient in performing high quality installation, repair and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation with a solid understanding of Sciex or competitive products including applications and software workflows
Performs qualifications services and customer training.
Troubleshoots and resolves difficult service situations both within assigned accounts as well as across the district/region
Completes administration duties (logging service activities, expense reporting, inventory, etc.)
Assist District/Process Manager with leading technical discussions for regional critical issues
Assists the District Manager with special projects, identifying resources and training needs, and filling in for the DM as needed.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. Military Certificates in electronics or avionics)
Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis or related scientific instruments is beneficial but not required
5+ years’ experience as a field service engineer
Additional Requirements:
Experienced in troubleshooting and follow problem-solving procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical technology and all required safety protocols
Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs
Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist
Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
Domestic/International travel by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel may be required
Maintain a valid Driver's License
Meet Vendor Credentialing requirements
