This role is hybrid based in West Sacramento, CA but Remote may also be considered for this position. The Senior Software Test Engineer for Beckman Coulter is responsible for helping design, develop, maintain the Test Automation framework for Microbiology software and providing leadership to drive improvements and optimizing the usage of automation across projects.

This position is part of the Microbiology Operating Company nested within Beckman Coulter and our vision is to ensure we that every patient has access to right antibiotic at the right time as one of the leading ID/AST companies.

You will be a part of the Software Test team and report to the Senior Manager, Test Engineering responsible for Beckman Coulter Microbiology. If you thrive in a software test leadership role and want to work in a world-class R&D organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design/Architect test automation framework and develop the new test automation libraries

  • Work with the Software Test team to develop and execute Test Automation for new and existing Microbiology software

  • Implement Software verification process and Automated testing for all projects to improve the overall testing cycle

  • Train and bring new testing knowledge to the team

  • Assist with test plan creation, planning, and management of individual test activities

  • Identify test scenarios and develop the test cases / test scripts

  • Provide leadership to drive improvements and build skillset within the Software Test team

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering with 5+ years programming experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 3+ years programming experience

  • Demonstrated leading, communication, collaboration skills

  • Software test automation experience

  • Experience testing Microsoft Windows client server apps

  • Agile development environment experience

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Python

  • C#

  • TestComplete

  • Azure Devops

  • HP-ALM

  • Human Factors / Usability

  • Medical device software development under FDA and global regulation
