Danaher Corporation Director : GSCM Materials Planning in Sunnyvale, California

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, while optimizing cost

  • Accountable for all material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take up immediate actions in the event of material shortages put production at risk

  • Assess volume requirements and manage risk for demand against planning safety stock assumptions, existing inventory, and open orders. Build contingency plans around risk.

  • Proven capable of creating solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks

  • Design, develop and implement flexible material processes to provide shortage risk visibility, correct safety stock levels, aid business efficiency, and drive process improvements

  • Design and manage professional and consistent materials planning processes are applied across the business, while ensuring SAP MRP Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity, inventory accuracy and inventory movements are managed daily in accordance to both demand forecasts and consumption levels

  • Oversee responsibility for E&O process to ensure balance sheet has minimum liability

  • Ensure strategic and operational information, reports, and metrics are available to business partners

  • Partner with stakeholders on product change requests, review and communicate impact / risk on material planning and build plan schedules

  • Partner with Purchasing on assessment and sourcing of suppliers to mitigate risk. Active participate in supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is achievable and strategies aligned.

  • Broad expertise in multiple supply chain disciplines, accompanied by expert knowledge and functional management experience in Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and others.

  • Strategy deployment experience. Develop and facilitate organizing and conducting relevant, concise, data driven, professional presentations across organization

  • Strong business acumen with experience leading or advising high-growth or fast-paced companies requiring novel operational programs.

  • Lean Leadership success through implementation of continuous improvement through daily Mgt, Standard Work, Kaizen’s around Problem Solving, Value stream, Heijunka, Poka-yoke, and Gemba.

  • Experience within an FDA regulated industry

  • Travel as required (and when prudent), including internationally

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience OR

  • Master’s/Doctoral degree with 12+ years of experience

  • AND

  • 4+ years managing people

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong educational credentials in applicable discipline such as Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain (MBA preferred) paired with Functional Supply Chain leadership.

  • Expert knowledge and experience of Power Point to enable concise data driven communication.

  • High level of knowledge and experience in Excel for required analytics.
