Danaher Corporation Director Lodi Logistics in Sunnyvale, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage all stockroom and direct material storage activities for the Lodi campus including any warehouse activity and company managed or third-party managed warehouse. Expected to collaborate with planning, purchasing, product transfer and manufacturing teams to assure supply of both raw materials and finished goods. Responsible for all safety, quality and performance KPIs at all Lodi domicile and support locations. Will be responsible for 24/7 manufacturing support and will assure timely delivery of all line-side and Kanban material. Will be responsible to assure SAP transactional capability is in place and/or maintained to support local warehouse functionality. Candidate will be expected to integrate and continuously evolve state-of-the-art warehouse automation tools creating a foundation to develop high throughput which will support an aggressive Cepheid ramp-up of manufacturing and sales. Job will have responsibility to strictly manage costs to a budget model agreed to by executive staff. This position requires ability to continuously identify and develop qualified people that will support our rapidly growing business. Will provide leadership and people to support and evolve SAP enhancement initiatives and campus site infrastructure. Responsible to plan and put in place correct technology equipment to support SAP transactions at all Lodi campus locations. Will be responsible to collaborate with peer global logistics leader to continually evolve global logistics technology strategy and implement initiatives to support this strategy. Will need to communicate to Cepheid executive team status and general health, performance and KPIs of the logistics organization. Responsible to manage the cycle count program in collaboration with the corporate finance department. Held accountable to maintain world-class standards for financial, first-pass and part accuracy for all internal teams moving netable SAP controlled inventory. Will work in collaboration with planning, purchasing and facilities teams to continually purge dead and non-inventory from all company and third-party warehouses. Is expected to maintain control of all non-conforming material at global locations per agile controlled processes. Expected to actively use DBS principles in all management responsibilities. This position will report directly to the senior director of global logistics. Responsible to staff operations per budget and at levels which maintain service while maintaining a robust kaizen schedule to assure efficiency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education or Experience (in years):

  • BS from accredited University

  • 5 years transportation management

  • 5 years Inventory management

  • 3 years SAP transactional management

  • 10 years warehouse management

Knowledge and skills:

  • ERP superuser

  • Understands inventory control operations

  • Advanced understanding of quality control principles

  • Proficient skill using spreadsheets

  • Understanding of budgeting process

  • Knowledgeable in hazardous material handling

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Can lift 30 pounds

  • Ability to work at a desk with computer for extended periods of time

Other:

  • Available for periodic business travel: 10%-20%

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

  • 10-years’ experience managing people

  • 3-years’ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
