Danaher Corporation Global Strategic Marketing Manager – HAI in Sunnyvale, California

The Global Marketing Manager – Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI), is responsible for owning the New Product Development (NPD) and design of strategies for the HAI and other critical Infections franchise. This includes developing and executing plans to establish opportunities to grow both existing and future product lines within the alternative site, hospital, and commercial laboratory segments.

Essential job responsibilities:

Product life cycle management and product portfolio planning

  • Drive business analysis and develop recommendations for entry into potential new market segments, defining the criteria for Go-to-Market opportunities

  • Identify unmet customer needs and new product/market opportunities in molecular diagnostics by utilizing structured VOC/VOS processes

  • Lead the development of new product concepts in close corporation with medical/scientific affairs, Regulatory, R&D, and other internal stakeholders

  • Coordinate with the broader Global and Regional Marketing teams and other business stakeholders to inform, create, and execute product and franchise strategy

  • Teams with the Regional and Operations functions to lead the product lifecycle process and product roadmap within the HAI franchise

  • Develop commercial strategies and global marketing plans for key segments and geographies

  • Represent Marketing in new product development core teams and in internal/external meetings.

Strategic marketing activities:

  • Work independently to analyze available data and envision the future trends in HAI and other infectious disease testing to keep Cepheid ahead of competitors and clinical demand.

  • Teams with diverse stakeholders to develop global product marketing and business segment plans

  • Participate and contribute to the annual strategic planning process

  • Develop pricing and payer strategies for key regions

  • Drive product launches, and work closely with key regions in the post-launch process

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders

  • Monitor global and regional market trends and opportunities

  • Conduct ad hoc initiatives on competitive analysis, market development activities, and other special projects as they arise.

Other key deliverables:

  • Interdepartmental support of other infectious disease products when needed

  • Support regional and local marketing organizations with growth initiatives, product launches, training, and commercial excellence initiatives

  • Participate in international and regional key conferences and meetings

  • Coordinate with the Global Team on key scientific and health economic studies and projects

Training responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

  • For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time

Minimum requirements:

Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related Marketing work experience (IVD preferred); Four year scientific or engineering degree preferred OR

  • Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in field with 6+ years of related Marketing work experience; MBA preferred

  • Global experience is desired

Knowledge and skills:

  • Self-starter capable of working independently to build teams and accomplish complex tasks.

  • Product launch experience and prior product development experience is essential

  • Analytical thinking and in depth understanding of the current MDx IVD market environment in the face of the COIV-19 pandemic is a requirement

  • Demonstrated experience translating science and complex technologies into a marketing message is required

  • Experience working directly with thought leaders and KOLs in relevant areas is required

  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to manage across broad number of products and tasks is required

  • Communicates effectively and is a strong team player/collaborator with various internal collaborators, customers and other stakeholders

  • Travel up to 25-30%, both domestic and internationally, as required

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Employee must be able to sit for long periods of time during travel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

  • Sales experience in Core, Molecular and Microbiology laboratory environments

  • Budget Management experience

  • Marketing or Strategic marketing experience

  • Experience in the infectious diseases market highly preferred, Respiratory infections, Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), or STI is a plus

  • Established experience in implementing product branding and marketing across lab, clinical/healthcare provider, and patient segments is desired

  • Experience in developing or implementing pricing strategies is desired
