The Inventory Control Manager - Stockroom Operations is responsible for:
Reporting to the Director of Stockroom Operation, the Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for the effective management, control, and coordination of Cepheid’s cycle count program for the Sunnyvale Stockroom Operations. This will be accomplished through the generation of count documentation (electronic or paper form) while ensuring strict adherence to Cepheid’s Inventory Control Standard Operating Procedures and Corporate SOX Narrative.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for effectively leading inventory teams, designs effective work teams.
Develops strategic inventory management and staffing plans.
Documents inventory processes, updates documents as required.
Acts as the main contact for audits
Responsible for perpetual inventory balances and ensures finished goods inventory availability.
Reconciles inventory discrepancies among different systems, locations, categories, and classes.
Analyzes and addresses root cause for inventory transaction errors
Manage all Cycle Count and Physical Inventory activities for the Sunnyvale Stockroom Operations and adhere to the Corporate policies and narrative
Provides daily direction and leadership to the cycle count team members
Conducts regular one on one and helps drafts performance objectives and development plans
Coach and develop team members on proper processes, methodology, tools, etc.
Create and apply visual Gemba evidence and standard work for inventory discrepancy tracking and status for core team and decision-makers
Analyze complex inventory issues involving real-time inventory levels
Teams with Finance to lead internal & external Inventory audits
Subject Matter Expert (SME) to address all escalated Inventory Control request for research, validation, and special projects
Defines requirements for and lead the implementation of inventory system improvements, develops new strategies to make inventory transactions more efficient.
Manage the collection and presentation of Inventory metrics and KPIs utilizing Daily Management fundamentals and collaborate with Global Inventory Control team Monitors KPI's, evaluates performance and service levels, drives improvements for critical measurements such as cycle count accuracy, overall inventory accuracy, and weeks-on-hand
Leads inventory control projects and process improvements
Training Responsibilities: (REQUIRED)
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time
Education or Experience (in years):
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience OR
Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
Knowledge and skills:
Thorough understanding of Material Handling, Supply Chain and Logistics processes
In-depth knowledge and experience with SAP IM/WM/eWM modules and cycle count execution
Comprehensive knowledge of Inventory Control industry best practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as high ethical standards
Thorough understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) rules and requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize complex requests, and resolve issues creatively
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and implement team projects
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) skills are required, Advanced Excel skills preferred
Ability to work in an office environment
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):
Reagent manufacturing experience
Related experience in a diagnostic, medical device, or pharmaceutical environment
