The Lab Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting all the Biochip Laboratories which include Engineering and Research & Development (R&D). The Lab Operations Specialist will have responsibilities such as, facilitating processes that will support keeping all laboratories tidy, clean, organized, ensuring that equipment and instruments work properly, and lab supplies are available in the stockroom and labs. This position will work closely with the Lab & Safety Manager with various laboratory tasks and projects.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Perform regular inspections of freezers and coordinate with Facilities Team to defrost the freezers as needed and support emergency transfers when units fail.
Provide support during the expansion and remodeling projects of the labs and provide training and technical assistance for all R&D new hires that require lab access.
Work effectively within the team and department through collaboration and teamwork to complete assigned tasks.
Serve as point of contact with Technical Support and IT to resolve software/hardware issues for computers and instruments used in the labs.
Collaborate with Lab and Safety Manager to maintain the calibration schedule of the GeneXpert systems/lab equipment and resolve any errors observed.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Lab Sciences or another laboratory-based credential.
Minimum 2+ years laboratory experience in a BSL-2 laboratory.
Ability to work in a BSL-2 laboratory environment which requires Hepatitis B vaccination. If you are not vaccinated, Cepheid will provide authorization to receive the vaccination series at no expense.
Able to work in an office environment and laboratory environment.
Must be a self-starter with strong focus on quality, attention to detail and delivering results.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience in a CAP/ CLIA/ GMP/ ISO regulated laboratory environment.
Competent in handling multiple tasks & prioritizing based on business impact.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $90K to 108K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
