Danaher Corporation Manufacturing Operations Data Analyst in Sunnyvale, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Operations Data Analyst is responsible for being the Data Steward and gate keeper of Manufacturing Master Data going into Operation’s various systems so that it adheres to guidelines and policies of design for the various business systems.

The Data Analyst is also responsible for analyzing data, looking for anomalies, and making recommendations for alignment and corrections so that the company can use clean normalized data to facilitate standard reporting, automation between systems, learning, and ultimately make better and faster decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extract, review, and analyze master data in various enterprise business systems such as PLM, ERP, MES, CMMS, and other Factory Information Systems to ensure accuracy and integrity.

  • Analysis of Manufacturing Data including but not limited to Products, BOMs, Routings, & Work Centers.

  • Solves problems in straight forward situations; analyses possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents

  • Support & collaborate with Business Solutions Engineers & extended team members in projects that utilize Master Data. Advising and guiding associates based on developed expertise in the business and data models.

  • Work with Cepheid stakeholders across functions to review, understand and optimize master data.

  • Explains complex information to others in straightforward manner

  • Presents data quality issues to stakeholders at all levels in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks, Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare summaries for management, operations, and any appropriate stakeholder presentations

  • Participate in presentations to operations, vendors and appropriate stakeholder as required.

  • Supports departmental business plans/processes as outlined by management.

  • Help establishing, enforcing, and/or managing procedures related to managing data.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding of Products, Product Attributes, and BOMs and their relevance to how an organization and various functions use the information.

  • Prior working experience with ERP systems

  • Prior experience work as a key member of a work team involving analyzing data and making recommendations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and their advanced functions (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and Sharepoint).

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to stand for several hours.

  • To be able to visit manufacturing processes up close; ability to be on the shop floor and in cleanrooms.

Other:

  • Quick learner, self-starter, able to drive projects with minimal direction.

  • Works well under pressure and ambiguity.

  • Ability to take general strategic directions and independently exercise appropriate judgment to move forward to action with moderate guidance and/or direction.

  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing conditions and priorities.

  • Is accurate, detailed, and is also able to see the big picture.

  • Ability to persuade others. Wins concessions without damaging relationships.

  • Travel to local sites (Newark, Sunnyvale, Lodi)

  • Limited international travel as needed to support projects

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions as pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc..

  • Working knowledge of Agile or other PLM systems.

  • Data Analysis experience, including in at least one of the disciplines: Product Development, NPI, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing.

  • Report development is a plus
