Danaher Corporation Process Excellence Coordinator in Sunnyvale, California


  • Coordinates the organization, planning and logistics of DBS Kaizen and Shingijutsu kaizen events, training and workshops.

  • Conducts periodic layered process audits at the gemba to ensure sustainment of Daily Management/SQDIP Boards, 5S and Safety initiatives. Provides coaching and guidance as necessary. Update dashboards and bowlers with audit results as necessary.

  • Maintains and administers DBS Kaizen Funnels for Kaizen Planning. Follows up with Kaizen leaders to complete charters, get approval, complete necessary prework and collects and tracks sustainment results.

  • Co-facilitate or facilitate in-person and virtual kaizen events and lead kaizen teams through training, at-gemba activities, kaizen action-items and report outs to leadership.

  • Maintains and administers Site and Global DBS Certified Practitioner Funnels. Follows up with CP’s and CP candidates on progress and updates funnels and dashboards as necessary.

  • Help facilitate monthly tool-specific CP community meetings with CP’s and CP Candidates

  • Participate in Problem Solving Process (PSP) teams and provide objective guidance and best practices to teams on the Define, Investigate, Verify and Ensure phases.

  • Communicates progress, status, and obstacles of DBS Project Action Plans to Project Owners and business leaders

  • Schedule, coordinate and participate in Global DBS Alignment Events

  • Deliver DBS 101 and other DBS education and awareness trainings to new hires. Help train the L&D team trainers on the content.

  • Create Powerpoint presentations, Action Plans and other report-outs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience with Six Sigma/ Lean/process/Continuous Improvement desired.

  • Proven soft leadership skills to drive projects in a complex environment with several stakeholders and influence without authority.

  • Solid knowledge based on the practical experience of Lean tools, methods, and behaviors

  • At least 2 years’ proven experience participating, leading and delivering process improvement projects

  • Ability to identify root causes of problems, generate and evaluate creative alternative solutions, implement and sustain solutions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (English written and spoken)

  • Comfortable to work in a very agile business with rapid growth, with capability to develop and execute priorities with rapidly changing business

  • Intermediate computer skills including a moderate understanding of operating systems, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and database. Experience with Microsoft; Excel, SharePoint,Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams

  • Previous experience in manufacturing operations in the medical device industry with knowledge of IVD manufacturing experience will be an added advantage

  • Experience with building automated Dashboards in Excel or Power BI will be considered an added advantage.

Preferred Requirements;

  • Appropriate practitioner experience in Operations roles

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view

  • Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business

  • Mastery of a variety of Fundamentals and Lean DBS tools

  • Superior communications skills

  • Superior training, consulting and influencing skills

  • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies

  • Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Can lift 30 pounds

  • Ability to work at a desk with computer for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to stand for several hours

  • Must be able to speak and deliver training for several hours

  • Must be comfortable working with web camera turned on during virtual meetings and kaizens.


Available for periodic business travel: 10%
