The Product Manager is responsible for On-Market Product Management activities for Cepheid's GeneXpert Systems Portfolio. *Candidates must be based in USA in Pacific Standard Time zone.

This role will support commercial organizations with key marketing and commercialization activities with focus on development and implementation of upgrade strategies, as well as aligning organizational resources to help support these plans. Works with engineering, supply chain operations, service, finance, assay product management teams and commercial teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support regional marketing organizations with short and long-term growth initiatives with on-market products, including tactical plans, discontinuations, upgrade planning, and commercial excellence initiatives.

  • Contribute to annual marketing plans for on-market products that support regional growth initiatives

  • Support PLM activities post-launch (e.g., cost reduction, sustaining efforts, EOL programs)

  • Take a user-centric and data-driven approach to solving commercial problems

  • Work cross functionality to drive requirements for life cycle management programs and manage through challenges that arise during process– timelines, technical risks, vendors, and shifting regulatory requirements – with professionalism and a positive attitude

  • Think critically about commercial upgrade solutions from a technical perspective, engages commercial regions, customer care and service teams in tough conversations about prioritization and tradeoffs for hardware and software upgrades

  • Collaborate with upstream product management teams in communicating unmet customer needs and new product/market opportunities in molecular diagnostics

  • Provide input to the strategic roadmap by getting smart about the market through customer interaction and competitive analysis.

  • Build consensus for the product lifecycle strategy and roadmap across a range of stakeholders and functional teams in the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience in sales, marketing, product management, customer care, product support, or customer facing roles in the medical or diagnostic industries OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience.

  • Proficiency in project management tools, VPM, SAP, Miro MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP. Comfortable working with large datasets, can analyze, present results in a succinct way to an executive audience.

  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to multi-task across broad number of products and disease states.

  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, analytical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure.

  • Has a strong sense of ownership and a can-do attitude, and resourceful.

  • Effective communication skills, ability to work Communicates effectively, leads others to solve problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement, escalates when needed and identifies innovative solutions

  • Strong team player/collaborator with various internal constituent, customers and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of molecular IVD products and markets.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25-30%, both domestic and internationally, as required.
