Job Summary

Seeking a financial professional who is detail oriented, will get deep into the details if needed without losing sight of the overall goal and the big picture. Professional and polished individual who is looking to grow long term with an exciting company and be a key contributor to our growing team.


  • Owns month-end and quarter-end revenue close operational process including preparation of journal entries

  • Support the Cepheid Technical Accounting Team and Danaher Corporate SEC reporting team in any revenue-related reporting matter including disclosures

  • Prepare various reconciliations related to revenue accounts and transactions for multiple jurisdictions

  • Review non-standard terms on orders and contracts, and make determination if certain orders should form a single or multiple revenue arrangement

  • Educate sales and other functions outside of Finance on system, policy and accounting requirements required for revenue compliance

  • Assist legal team in sales contract review of quotes/contracts and other form of proposed transactions

  • Provide necessary revenue recognition inputs to the FP&A team so that the periodic revenue forecast reflects any required GAAP adjustments

  • Identifies, designs and proposes ways to make the revenue accounting function more efficient, accurate and timely on a global basis

  • Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls

  • Work actively with external and internal auditors to ensure that company revenue recognition interpretation and internal revenue guidance are consistent and compliant with GAAP and all technical pronouncements

  • Any other projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3-5 years of public accounting combined with industry experience with a strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and a basic knowledge of ASC 842. BA or BS degree in finance/economics/accounting

  • Comfortable in reviewing contracts or other documents working with cross functional teams

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to prepare and support effective presentations of financial results and/or analytical findings

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to communicate highly technical perspectives to individuals with varying degrees of experience in the subject matter ranging from sales personnel and certain other customer-facing individuals, other finance personnel, and management-level individuals

  • Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks in a challenging, fast paced environment

  • CPA is very desirable

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience is a plus

  • Experience in medical diagnostic industry is a plus
