Danaher Corporation Senior Program Manager in Sunnyvale, California
Responsible for leading and managing Operations Programs (capacity expansion, continuous improvement, sustaining, etc) within the Operations PMO organization with the objective to deliver projects/programs on time and budget that meet business objectives and customer needs. This role is based out of Cepheid’s Sunnyvale Office.
This role is 3-fold
Partner with site leaders to ensure communication and clear alignment on expansion programs master project list to expansion roadmap.
Model project resource/skill set/budget needs to support programs.
Drive strategic recommendations of and execution of action plans on a program level to ensure that the entire expansion programs are executed and aligned to the business expectations
Manage and facilitate quarterly review meetings among site leadership team and Cepheid executive team to ensure visibility of critical projects and issues.
Management of Projects:
Lead the cross-functional coordination of teams to ensure alignment and proper resourcing and prioritization of expansion projects.
Lead and execute on multiple programs in parallel.
Define, measure and communicate project progress to leadership functions:
Identify, prevent and manage risks
Track and ensure on time delivery of project deliverables
Develop full scale project plan including project tasks and resource requirements
Manage project file and project documentation
Manage communication with external and internal stakeholders
Align the company’s general business targets with the project’s objectives and outcomes
Process & Organization development
Development and continuous improvement on best practices for project execution and process development for Operations programs roadmap.
Implementation of portfolio management tools using DBS tools.
Participate in development and continuous improvement on best practices for project execution and talent development for PMO.
Participate in strategic initiatives to strengthen competencies across PMO
Contribute to improvement and implementation of cross functional internal processes
Support implementation of good / industry standard project management and processes
Act as a resource and mentor to less experienced colleagues
The role is expected to provide strong leadership in a matrix environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programs to ensure successful delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGY: Create, clarify and share vision of long-term objectives and strategies for Operations programs targeting on time, on budget project/program delivery that meets business and customer needs aligned with business objectives; Communicate priorities balancing trade-offs between short-term and long-term aspirations; Pro-actively identify potential roadblocks and barriers and to portfolio/program success and propose solutions or work arounds.
DECISION-MAKING: Utilize critical thinking to move strategy to action in a global environment; Determine team resource allocations based on project fit, skill set, capacity, and capability.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Drive PM excellence through best practice methodologies, process systems, DBS and other tools; Drive in-depth understanding of business strategies, capabilities coupled with equally deep knowledge of development and commercialization processes; Estimate and identify the resources needed to achieve project goals through established resource capacity planning.
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

Education and Experience (in years):
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree preferred in Science, Engineering and/or Business Administration
8 years of experience executing complex multifunction programs
Experience leading / owning multi functional interdependent programs
Experience in rapidly expanding dynamic environments

Medical device and/or In Vitro Diagnostic environment experience is highly preferred
Experience leading Operations programs highly preferred
Experience leading rapid scaling programs highly preferred
CP in DBS Tools (For Example, VPM, LEx)
Experience executing programs in a regulated environment
PMP or PgMP certification is highly preferred
Medical device and/or In Vitro Diagnostic experience is highly preferred
Can “build plane while flying”
