Danaher Corporation Senior Supplier Development Engineer in Sunnyvale, California
Position Summary: Unprecedented customer demand and ever-increasing market size necessitates increasing the global manufacturing supply base including worldwide expansion. This is a challenging engineering role whose responsibilities include enabling the expansion of the current manufacturing supply capacity, reducing cycling while driving improvements in yield and overall product quality.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Includes analyzing manufacturing costs for subassemblies and complete product modules.
Must be able to decompose manufacturing steps by labor cost and technical machining/circuit board assembly processes as well as raw materials.
Provide alternative manufacturing component assembly strategies.
Lead supplier selection and qualification for cost savings and capacity expansion.
Implement sourcing strategies.
- Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR
Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR
Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to determine PCB level component material and assembly labor costs
Familiarity with Agile and SAP
Preferred Requirements (optional):
MS + 5 yrs experience in supplier manufacturing costing/negotiation desired.
BS Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent required. MS or MBA preferred.
