Danaher Corporation Senior Supplier Development Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Position Summary: Unprecedented customer demand and ever-increasing market size necessitates increasing the global manufacturing supply base including worldwide expansion. This is a challenging engineering role whose responsibilities include enabling the expansion of the current manufacturing supply capacity, reducing cycling while driving improvements in yield and overall product quality.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Includes analyzing manufacturing costs for subassemblies and complete product modules.

  • Must be able to decompose manufacturing steps by labor cost and technical machining/circuit board assembly processes as well as raw materials.

  • Provide alternative manufacturing component assembly strategies.

  • Lead supplier selection and qualification for cost savings and capacity expansion.

  • Implement sourcing strategies.

Training Responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR

  • Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to determine PCB level component material and assembly labor costs

  • Familiarity with Agile and SAP

Preferred Requirements (optional):

  • MS + 5 yrs experience in supplier manufacturing costing/negotiation desired.

  • BS Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent required. MS or MBA preferred.
