Danaher Corporation Sr Automation Engineering Technician in Sunnyvale, California
The Automation Engineering Technician is responsible for the assembly, test, and repair of custom-built manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for machine setup, executing engineering experiments, data collection, writing technical reports, and equipment maintenance. Works alongside engineering to develop standards and procedures for assembly, commissioning and trouble-shoot of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic operated sub-assemblies and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble, install, setup, maintain and repair electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment.
Modify and adjust complex process equipment and instruments.
Setup and execution of experiments using a variety of test and measurement equipment relating to automated assembly.
Install and wire basic electrical components from a schematic
Track the progress of activities, escalate unresolved issues and potential risks to schedule and deliverables to the management team.
Development and promotion of best practices and definition of standard procedures.
Work with Mechanical Engineering to identify issues, suggest solutions, perform reliability testing and root cause analysis.
Edit BOM’s, redline mechanical drawings and electrical schematics as necessary.
Ability to safely and properly use typical power and hand tools.
Comply with company safety procedures.
- Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Education and Experience (in years):
High School degree (or equivalent experience) with 6+ years of related work experience OR
AA or Technical Trade Degree with 5+ years of related work experience.
Knowledge and skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and system level trouble shooting.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Proficient use of typical tools and lab equipment such as torque wrenches, measurement tools, microscopes, voltmeters, etc.
Familiarity with CAD software SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
Ability to stay organized and maintain a safe working environment.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours.
Be able to stand for 8 hours
- Associates Degree with three or more years of related professional experience or equivalent.
