POSITION SUMMARY: As a Senior Payroll Specialist you will be part of a team that is responsible for accurate and timely delivery of payroll to approx. 2000 associates on a bi-weekly basis. You must be detail-oriented, be able to research and problem solve, maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information discretely.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as part of a team to prepare bi-weekly payroll for 2000+ employees, ensuring the process is executed accurately, timely and compliant with tax, wage and hour laws.

  • Team with HR partners to resolve issues related to Workday interfaces

  • Respond to tax levies, child support and garnishments.

  • Coordinates & processes manual checks for out-of-cycle payments, terminations.

  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers on payroll related matters

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Review and maintain payroll data to ensure accuracy of tax set-up and compliance

  • Analyze ADP Quarterly Reports to ensure accurate W-2 results

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration with increased responsibilities

  • Payroll Certification, FPC, CPP

Knowledge and skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of payroll best practices, payroll certification preferred

  • Advanced experience with month-end close, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations

  • Ability to problem solve, make judgment calls based on existing practices and procedures

  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with an emphasis on the ability to prepare and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets through V lookups and pivot tables

  • This position has a wide diversity of work situations, and requires good organization and analytical skills, working quickly while maintaining accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good grammar and spelling in written communication

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment with high level of accuracy

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: (Delete this section if not applicable)

  • Experience with accounting month-end, journal entries, account reconciliations

  • Multi-State Payroll

  • Experience with SAP, Workday or similar accounting and HRIS systems

  • Experience with PayForce, eTime
