The Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Applications is responsible for designing, building, and testing of complex or large-scale, systems, ensuring that the components of the system are integrated and function as a whole for all of Cepheids Manufacturing and Operations applications. As Cepheid manufacturing footprint continues to expand, you will be a part of a team that delivers world class application and system deployments across the enterprise, as well as sustaining and enhancing existing applications and systems.

This position is part of the Operations Business Solutions and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid). At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with manufacturing and operations to understand and document user requirements for our Manufacturing Applications.

  • Work with development and engineering team to document functional requirements and design software solutions for manufacturing applications team.

  • Lead architecture and design discussions to come up with the most effective technical solution.

  • Provide technical thought leadership to development, engineering as well as support teams within system engineering.

  • Communicate effectively, lead initiatives and drive necessary actions to completion to ensure that organizational goals are met.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Camstar / Opcenter MES.

  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills including resilience, sense of urgency, remaining calm under pressure, influencing skills, interpersonal skills and having a sense of ownership/accountability.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to work with associates across the company to manage expectations and establish priorities.

  • Experience doing high level software designs for MES to provide scalable and sustainable solutions.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Familiarity and experience with Danaher Business Systems principles.

  • Knowledge and experience with Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Batch/Device History Records in Medical Device manufacturing.

  • Experience in Quality System Regulations (QSR) 21 CFR 820; Design Control: ISO 13485:2003, and FDA regulations.

  • Implemented systems with either 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, GAMP5, and regulations and guidelines pertinent to Data Integrity.

The salary range for this role is $131k-$180k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
