Cepheid is looking for a self-motivated tax professional to join our tax department at Cepheid HQ to support our fast-growing company. This role will support US Sales and Use tax compliance as well as Treasury and Insurance operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to details, and is comfortable with technologies/systems.
Essential job responsibilities:
Review and Enter Sales Tax Exemption Certificates and resolve Sales Tax issues with A/P, Order Management and Claims groups. Monitor expiring certificates
Run Tax reports, analyze tax data and reconcile Sales and Use Tax Accounts
Assist Treasury by Managing and Monitoring bank account maintenance
Assist Insurance by responding to requests for certificates and Managing Facility Data
Perform tax research and analysis
Support audits and special projects as needed
Support process improvements through technological or innovative solutions
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)
- Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Minimum requirements:
Education and Experience (in years):
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum 1 year’ experience in Tax, Accounting, Treasury or related field. Sales & Use tax experience preferred
Experience in IT/Systems a plus
Knowledge and skills:
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines with a strong sense of ownership
Solid technology skills including mid-to-advanced usage of Excel and ability to navigate new technological solutions. Experience with SAP, and/or Vertex a plus
