POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Global Planning and Execution will be accountable for all supply and demand planning for Cepheid, including OTD, inventory and service levels. The Vice President is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of demand / supply generation and execution for Cepheid. Develops strategy, business process and all the associated infrastructure requirements, including capacity plans, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), long-term demand planning, forecast data alignment, factory scheduling, inventory planning, on-time-delivery, factory balancing and revenue attainment. Responsible for the development and deployment of business / IT systems needed to achieve results. Will lead a large team of 100 associates across a global footprint.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement global strategy.
Manage S&OP process for the company.
Manage the forecast collection process for all sales inputs at an end item level.
Manage all factory scheduling, factory balancing and lead capacity planning across all factory sites – short and long term.
Generate Long Term capacity planning output for Raw Material (Plastics, Probes & Primers, Beads, Factory Production).
Ensure clean demand signal to execution through MRP.
Plan all instruments, assays and collection kits though the deployment of franchise leaders
Manage the generation of a rough-cut financial outlook to align with Finance.
Manage the Distribution Center Service Inventory Forecast and Process .
Develop and deploy strategy for distribution network configuration.
Lead large group of associates through mentoring, coaching and OJT.
Manage inventory and asset utilization.
Own and execute inventory control programs on a global basis (Floor stock, timely queue up of jobs, accurately and smoothly execute daily plan goals).
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure adequate capacity, build plan execution and OTD metrics.
Analyze constraints and take required actions to alleviate problems within production facilities
Ensure tie-off with production heads; partner with factory site leaders across the company.
Drive systems implementation and champion DBS processes.
Participate in executive peer groups to lead improvement activities through the Cepheid supply-chain including factories, suppliers and planning.

Education and Experience (in years):
Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years of experience OR
Master’s/Doctoral degree with 18+ years of experience AND
6+ years managing people
Knowledge and skills:
Ability to lead in an environment with a medium to high level of ambiguity in process and systems.
Demonstrated experience in inventory management, complex forecasting, and service planning environments. Strong Manufacturing planning experience is required.
Cross functional leadership – influence and communication to C-suite is a critical skill required
High-level analytical and modeling skills and ability to teach others / team
Ability to lead the deployment of systematic improvements and organizational capabilities
Organize executive presentations
Excellent collaboration skills and executive presence
Knowledge of end-item customization / end-to-end supply-chain
Knowledge of operation in a regulated industry
Ability to negotiate with senior leaders across the business and influence the opinions of others within the business unit and in external organizations; exercises sensitivity to the audience
Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinking
Ability to work in an office environment.
Travel up to 50% to domestic and international locations
A Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering or Business Administration
Masters or PhD in math / scientific related field strongly desired
CPA/CPM or demonstrated financial and cost accounting
Past revenue management and attainment experience
Excellent business / commercial interface skill / business acumen
Command of profit and loss / cost accounting – proven expertise managing revenue
