Danaher Corporation Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager, China in Suzhou, China

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivery

  • Manage freight in and freight out delivery processes while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for all imports and exports

  • Analyze distribution process and determine the most cost effective and/or efficient means of transporting goods

  • Negotiate with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency

  • Participate in carrier management process, such as selection, qualification, performance management

  • Ensure accurate and effective administration of shipping documents

  • Establish and maintain routing guides for all deliveries

  • Anticipate need for delivery service in new locations and make appropriate preparation plan

  • Follow-up and align on incoming goods flow and timely communication with 3PL

  • Manage to annual goals set for On Time Delivery (OTD)

  • Manage to annual goals set for Outbound Freight Recovery (OBFR)

  • Warehouse

  • Manage all 3PL relationships and company owned warehouses

  • Manage inventory accuracy

  • Manage order fulfilment

  • Maintain qualified SAP user status of Cepheid required functionality

  • Establish and evaluate key performance indicators (KPI’s)

  • Manage to annual cost goals per budget

  • Ensure 5S implementation and continuous improvement

  • Trade Compliance

  • Perform import classification of products and monitor of classification changes

  • Follow-up customs clearance and maintain export documents for audit by Customs and tax authorities

  • Monitor changes on duty rate of materials from US origin and look for opportunities for duty reduction

  • Establish and implement import/export procedures/policies for China

  • Perform screening of customers against Denied Party list

  • Identify risks/violations and report to Trade Compliance Manager

  • Perform internal audits on import/export performance

  • Intervene on any customs related delays on imports and exports

  • Customer Service

  • Directly assist customers, distributors and sales team with product queries related to stock levels, logistics quotes, tracking and tracing of orders, payments, etc.

  • Support all internal customers with Logistics with logistics requirements. Internal Customers may be:

  • Purchasing and Planning

  • Order Management and Tech Services

  • Compliance and Regulatory/Quality

  • Support Finance requests

  • Weekly invoice audits for Accounts Payable and Compliance.

  • Quality Management

  • Work with global and regional teams to ensure compliance with all quality standards

  • Ensure the organization is compliant with Health and Safety and all other legal and financial requirements and transaction flows

  • Drive Continuous Business Improvements through all aspects of business

  • Strong familiarity with China and regional customs

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete all assigned and required company training satisfactorily and on time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in subject area of Logistics, Supply Chain or Business management or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics and supply chain in a wide spectrum of Freight forwarding, Local and National warehousing, Distribution, Customs/Trade compliance, Customer service, 3PL management

Knowledge and skills:

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English – written and conversation

  • Excellent competency level in Microsoft office tools

  • May require some regional and limited international travel (up to 15% of year)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • SAP or other ERP/WMS technical competency

  • 5 Years logistics related management experience (direct reports and/or indirect 3PL reports)

  • 5 years Trade Compliance experience focused on China

  • Critical thinking and problem solving

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Strategic management

  • Influential and effective collaborator across multiple business units

  • Influential Leader who creates strong direct and indirect teams
